Halle Bailey Brings The Little Mermaid To Life

The Little Mermaid had it’s worldwide release on Friday 26th May 2023.

I made no hesitations and decided go watch it in 4DX 3D. This was a spectacular experience because you truly felt like you were a part of the movie.

Let me tell you, it was phenomenal from start to finish. Shoutout to the cast, they all brought their A game.

The little Mermaid exceeds expectations. Halle Bailey is a true talent and her voice is alluring, it sends chills down your spine. Her voice takes you to another dimension that you don’t want to come out of.

Bailey was able to convey so many emotions through her body language, especially the parts where Ariel lost her voice.

There was great chemistry between Ariel and john Andre Hauer King, who plays Prince Eric. The two really captured the essence of what falling in love looks like. My favourite scene of theirs was when Prince Eric was trying to guess Ariel’s name. It was a really cute moment, Jonah is the most charming Prince Eric.

We can’t forget about Ariel’s besties, Flounder( Jacob Tremblay) scuttle(Nora Lum) and Sebastian (Daveed Diggs). I loved how they were willing to go to any lengths to help Ariel. They were understanding in her desire to see the world and they knew that her intentions were pure. The three of them added some comedic flare to the film, it was nice to just sit and have a laugh.

I personally loved Scuttle’s and Sebastian’s rap, you could tell it had Lin Miranda written all over it. As a fan of Hamilton, it was fun to hear this style of rap. It bought something new and current to the film.

Melissa McCarthy as Ursula

I could never forget about Ursula, played by the multi-talented Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy is known  for her comedic performances in films such as Bridesmaids, Tammy and  Identity theft. I loved how she brought some comedy to Ursula. Her ‘poor unfortunate souls’ performance was impeccable. She mirrored Ursula evilness well.

Everybody needs to see this film, the cinematography is out of this world. Rob Marshall did a wonderful job with Directing.

I’ve been watching Halle Bailey perform covers with her older sister Chlöe on YouTube since 2016.. So, to see her progress into something this big is wonderful to see. Halle Bailey is definitely one to watch.

Hollywood better get ready!
